Apple Cider Cocktail Ingredients
Apple Cider
Apple Cider is to Fall, as Freddie Mercury is to Queen. You just can’t have one without the other. Apple cider is the juice and some pulp from freshly pressed apples. There isn’t any added sugar, just pure apple yumminess.
There are many health benefits to taking in a serving.
Apple cider contains polyphenols, which are compounds in plants that act as antioxidants. They can help the body to fight against free radicals and cell damage, lowering your risk of certain types of cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. Polyphenols also help to ease inflammation in the body.

Even though apple cider has health benefits and no added sugar, it still should be consumed in moderation.

Apple Cider usually comes in a cinnamon option as well. Either work in this recipe. Choose your favorite. OR if you are making my Apple Cinnamon Energy Balls, you’ll have some freshly squeezed apple juice. Don’t let it go to waste.

Booze
There are so many spirits that go well with apple. SO. MANY. Pick your favorite poison for this cocktail. Here are some options to mull over:
- Fireball Whiskey: Sweet Cinnamon Canadian Whiskey – my fave!
- Bourbon: Barrel aged American Whiskey
- Spiced Rum: Rum flavored with natural Herbs and Spices
- Gin: Originally a medicinal liquor, flavored with juniper berries
- Vodka: with not much flavor, Vodka makes the Apple Cider shine
- Caramel Vodka: drink a Caramel Apple
- Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey: Peanut Butter & Apples go great together
- Salted Caramel Bourbon: Sweet & Salty Caramel and Apples

Shakin’ or Stirred
Here are 3 ways to mix this cocktail:
- Shaker: fill a shaker with ice, pour in apple cider & booze, cap it, and shake.
- Stir: fill a glass with ice, pour in apple cider & booze, stir.
- Cup Pour: fill one glass with ice, apple cider & booze, pour it’s contents into another glass, then pour it back into the original glass.
Warmed Up Cider
Looking for a warm beverage to sip on a cool Fall night? Keep the apple cider warm in a mini crock pot or nuke it in the microwave. Be sure to add the booze after you warm it or the alcohol may cook out.
Garnish
I’m a no-fuss kinda gal when it comes to cocktails. Don’t get me wrong, if I’m out, I love a beautifully crafted cocktail. At home, I tend to keep it simple.
Add a little flair to your cocktail, if you want. Afer all, you only live once. Whether you keep it simple or make it fancy, here are some options:
- Cinnamon Stick
- Star Anise
- Apple Slice, brushed with lemon juice
Rimming the glass with caramel, honey, or cinnamon sugar looks beautiful. However, it does add more sugar (and calories) to this cocktail.
