Make the tea. Add the Fireball cinnamon whiskey. Pretty easy warm up cocktail.

If you like this warm-you-up toddy, you’ll love Fireball Iced Tea. And if you need a little sweet treat to go with, Fudgy Brownie Bites would be a perfect match.

How to Make Fireball Tea

A typical hot toddy has lemon juice, whiskey, honey, and water. That is good and all. But this recipe is the easiest:

  1. Make the Tea
  2. Add the Fireball

The Tea

What kind of tea to use? Use your favorite! If you are a fruity tea person go for:

  • Apple
  • Peach
  • Orange

All of these flavors pair delightfully with cinnamon. Not so fruity? Go for a calming tea:

  • Chamomile
  • Matcha
  • Lavender

Health Benefits of Tea

Tea has a plethora of health benefits. From anti-aging to immunity boosting to improving mental health. And it’s just plain comforting. Sheldon, from Big Bang Theory, would agree.

You don’t have to be a knowledgeable about tea to find the right one for you. It will tell you right on the box what that tea blend helps with.

  • Digestion
  • Calming
  • Sleepy time
  • Cognitive
  • Stress Relief

There is a tea out there for any ailment you may have. If you have a local tea shop, they can steer you in the right direction. Sprouts has a huge tea selection as well.

How to Make Tea

Just in case you have never made hot tea before, it’s so easy. I use a tea pot, but for many years I didn’t have one. If you don’t have a tea pot, heat water in a pot on the stove or in a glass pitcher in the microwave (but not to boiling).

Go for water that is steaming, but not boiling. If you would like to read more about the perfect tea temps for certain teas, read this article.

Once the water is the right temp, pour it into your tea mug and add a tea sachet (fancy word for bag). Steep (brew) for 2-4 minutes, depending on your desired tea strength. Take the tea bag out, put the mug up to your nose and smell the goodness.

Feeling under the weather? Put some of Grandpa’s “cough medicine” in your hot tea for a simple hot tea toddy.

If you like this beverage, you’ll love Cranberry Prosecco Spritzer.

The Booze

So, you don’t like cinnamon, I get it. There are many other options out there to sooth a sore throat or warm you up with this beverage.

  • Jack Daniels Honey Whiskey
  • Bird Dog Blackberry Whiskey
  • Bird Dog Peach Whiskey
  • Apple Crown Royal
  • Buffalo Trace Bourbon
  • Old Crow – if you’re on a budget

There are so many options. Use your favorite. I haven’t tried other types of booze in hot tea. I just know what they say about grandpa’s medicine… it cures the cough!

Try this recipe on ice.

Like it Sweeter?

Flavored whiskeys are already pretty sweet. But if you need it sweeter, add a little drizzle of honey. This will help your cough too.

When my grandpa would ask my grandma for some sugar for his coffee, she would take her finger and swirl it around in his cup. So, this might work too… if you’re sweet enough.
